in ten years, i will be twenty-seven years old. odd. i really can't even think about that. i am sitting here trying very hard to envision my life, but i can barely picture next month. i guess i hope that i am still learning new things everyday. i will have love, but not be settled. i will have a comfy bedroom with lots of pictures and mementos from traveling- or maybe i will be traveling. i hope that i am fluent in at least 3 languages. i hope i have stayed in touch with people that i love, and forgotten about people that have hurt me. maybe i can have a little kitten if i live in the city, or a big dog if i live in the country. i want to have some tattoos, long hair, and still be my eclectic little self. i don't know much else. thinking that far ahead just tires me out, so i won't bother. :)

holly golightly. at least id like to think that i do. she is the one person that can be so genuine without even knowing who she is. i would like to be miss golightly. manhattan living with a poor-slob-without-a-name cat, having dinner parties at any given moment, and then disappearing into another world. i miss this book.

Writer's Block: It Sounds Better When You Say It

No matter what language you speak, you've probably come across words or phrases in another language that sound better than their equivalents in your native tongue. What's your favorite word or phrase in a foreign language?

"je ne suis pas dans mon assiette" is a french saying that literally translates to "i am not in my plate" but it means something like "i am not feeling like myself". i really like that. another thing i like is in spanish you can say "zutano" instead of saying "so-and-so" or "whats-his-name". i also like the sound of "i have the chills" in french, which is " j'ai des frissons". one more thing is that i like the word for "trash can"in french, which is "poubelle". how cute is that?! (really i could keep going all day. bah, i love languages.)

if i had won a LOT of money, i would just keep some to keep me alive. then i would use the rest to travel and help children. i want to help people but children are my weakness because they are so fragile and helpless. they have endless potential and i believe its all nature and nurture. i want to be there to play and talk to and love. really though, its just life and nobody gets out alive. why not just give love to little beings who will love you endlessly if you simply listen to them. i have a lot to give, i've just got to figure out how to get it out of me.

Writer's Block: Shops Gone By

Woolworths shut its doors in the U.K. last week, sending many into a frenzy of nostalgia and bargain shopping. What now-closed store or chain do you wish was still open?

Home is...

the writer's block thing on lj today was "where do you call home?"
and so this is my answer:

anywhere but my house. (with the exception of my bed.) the woods behind my house, my secret stream, hannah's basement, the railroad tracks, cheryl's car, underneath bridges, airport terminals, your arms... home is where the heart is. the end.
